spatial practice is a collaborative partnership for architecture & art installations formed by Dora Chi and Erik Amir committed to forming spatial experiences and strategic concepts based in Los Angeles.

spatial practice believes in greatness. We strive to realize desires and dreams.  We love the unexpected and embrace the unknown. We have no style or preconceived ideas, our designs are generated from a focused playful path rooted from the urgency of delivering innovative design.  Since its formation, we have paid particular attention to materialize the concept by confronting the necessary constraints along the way. We devote equal rigor and criticality to every project stage, regardless of scale.

We believe in the joy of spatial experiences. Our ability to realize and create unique & original spaces has been recognized by completed projects around the world, and the users of the space, our clients & collaborators.

Current and selected built projects include a private residence in the hillside of Los Angeles; fine-dining restaurant in Taiwan; interactive art Installations in Hong Kong and Japan; residential towers in Taiwan; headquarters for a high-tech company in China; several fashion showrooms and boutiques in Paris; among others.

Employment

spatial practice is an accumulation of ideas, people and circumstances.

We believe that true design is about bringing order into complexity –  a dynamic complexity – the essential feature of human beings, a culture, or a society. We look beyond basic conditions and restrictions – such as site, zoning, program and budget – to identify the essence of each spatial intervention. We catalyze architectural and formal thinking into a deeper context that concerns human interactions in specific cultural, social, and economic settings. Committed to creative-thinking and thorough decision-making, we design as a team. We collaborate with some of the best creative minds from different fields to create a dynamic and open platform that confronts and addresses spatial issues with a wide spectrum of insights.

Currently we are seeking for creative individuals who are self-initiative, like to explore the unconventional, and willing to design in a collaborative work environment that is beyond the typical.  We have positions available from Intern to Intermediate Architects with 0-5 years of experience.
